A posse of East Coast Smidts went to visit the West Coast Smidts in March 08.

My personal adventures went something like this:

Visiting with Sam and Nathan in Palo Alto and Menlo Park. Visiting the Stanford Museum and and the love Stanford campus.

A terrific Dinner with Sam, Nathan, Becca and Sarah in Menlo Park.

A crazy drive with Em and Lou up and down a million hairpin turns through the hills to the coast, then to Pescadero and to Butano State Park.

A pilgramage to the Winchester Mystery House in San Jose. The last word in secret rooms.

The Red Sox's first game of the season in the US, in Oakland.

A day in Yosemite National Park, and the stunning drive there.

A few hours in Marin County, exploring Muir Beach and more windy roads in steep hills.

All the time in between puttering around San Francisco. Many hours at Land's End Park and the ruins of the Sutro Baths. Repeated wanderings around various bits of coastline and harbor, Chinatown, Valencia Street and many places in between.
